CIE — the Centre of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at IIT Madras Zanzibar — is where student ideas are stress-tested, built into working products, and launched into the real world.

CIE — the Centre of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at IIT Madras Zanzibar — is the sister body of CFI at IIT Madras. We are a student-led innovation hub dedicated to problem-solving, design thinking, and venture creation.
Three clubs — CIPHER, iBot, and Sahaay — take student ideas from build to validation to startup. Projects span AI and technology, robotics and hardware, and social impact at the community level.
We believe the best way to learn is to build under pressure, with purpose, in public.
Every project at CIE is evaluated by a panel that includes Prof. Prabhu, Aditya Sharma (Student Executive Head, CFI), Vedant Bhosle (Associate Head, CFI), and IITMZ faculty members.
Teams are assessed against a SMART rubric — Goal Statement, Background & Scope, Deliverables, Timeline, and Validation — ensuring every project has measurable impact from day one.
